A pescatarian is an individual who does not eat meat, but does eat fish.
The term pescatarian was coined in the early 1990s and is a combination of the Italian word for fish, “pesce,” and the word “vegetarian.”
Some people adopt the pescatarian diet for a couple of months to help them transition to a vegetarian diet, and then to a vegan diet.
